A Good Year (2006)

A beautifully shot romantic comedy about a City-based investment banker, played by Russell Crowe, who inherits a French vineyard and is enchanted by the local goddess, Marion Cotillard.


A Perfect Pairing (2022)

A Los Angeles wine executive is moving to Australia to land a big client at their vineyard, ending up working on a sheep farm and falling in love with the hot ranch owner.


A Walk in the Clouds (1995)

Set in Napa Valley right after World War II, this movie entangles a returning soldier, an unwed pregnant woman and her oppressive father who owns a vineyard and disapproves of their relationship. The film was shot in multiple vineyards and wineries in towns across Sonoma and Napa Valleys and it is an adaptation of the original Italian screenplay "Four Steps in the Clouds".

 

A Vineyard Romance (2021)

A magazine writer is sent back to her home town to write about Hawthorne Vineyards, a premier wedding destination, finding her ex who now runs the place.


Autumn Tale (Conte D’automne) (1998)

This French romantic comedy is a film about a French vineyard owner and widow who is trying to find love again with the help of her best friend, who is posting ads in the newspaper, attracting more than one possible candidates.

 

Blood and Wine (1996)

A neo-noir thriller about a cheating husband and wine merchant (played by Jack Nicholson), who is plannning to steal a valuable diamond necklace from one of his clients.


Bottle Shock (2008)

The film is based upon the real-life event that helped California become recognized as one of the most famous wine producing regions in the wine world. It's the story of a father-and-son team trying to beat French competitors in the international tasting contest of 1976, known as the Judgment of Paris.


Cement Suitcase (2013)

This funny and slightly bizarre tale, revolves around a wine salesman from Yakima who finds out his wife is cheating on him. He strikes up a friendship with the other man, and goes on a giddy cross-country adventure.


Days Of Wine and Roses (1962)

This dramatic movie tells the story of an alcoholic man who falls in love with and gets married to a young woman, whom he systematically addicts to booze so they can share his “passion” together. Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick star in this classic wine drama of a loving family torn apart by alcoholism.

 

El Camino Del Vino (2010)

A highly regarded sommelier loses his palate in the middle of a wine festival, but steadily begins to get his taste -together with his soul- back. Shot in Argentina in the region of Mendoza.

 

French Kiss (1995)

Kevin Kline plays the charismatic son of French winemakers in this ‘90s classic. It’s a love story revolving around the charming Meg Ryan, red wine and French-style romance in Paris.


From the Vine (2019)

Based on the novel Finding Marco by Kenneth Canio Cancellara, the film tells the story of a burned-out business executive from Toronto who gives up on corporate business and moves his family to Italy to revive his grandfather's vineyard in Acerenza.


Holy Money (2009)

Anthony’s family runs an Italian restaurant in London. When his childhood friend, Dario, dies in a suspicious accident, Anthony inherits a vineyard in Sant’Angelo, the village where his parents came from in Italy. Surprised by the large sum of money offered to him for the land he has just inherited and considering the mysterious circumstances surrounding Dario’s death, Anthony decides to drive to Sant’Angelo and solve the mystery.

 

Saint-Amour (2016)

Saint-Amour is a 2016 French-Belgian dramatic comedy that tells the story of two farmers, a father and son, with conflicting relationships. In an attempt to forge a new partnership, they go on the wine route, taking a Parisian taxi, crossed at the exit of the Agricultural Fair.


Sideways (2004)

A classic comedy-drama directed by Alexander Payne, tells the tale of two middle-aged friends who go on a week-long road trip through Santa Barbara wine country, before one of them gets married, following their misadventures, romances, and bonding. Together they also share the anxiety about what the future holds and which paths they want to follow. Oscar winner for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Story of Wine (2008)

Story of Wine is South Korea’s first interactive film. At the one-year anniversary party for the Story of Wine wine shop, the owner creates an exclusive wine list specially combined with a unique story that represents the qualities of each wine.


The Grapes Of Death (1978)

Wine and zombies? You got it! There’s horror on the vines! A young woman goes to live with her fiancé at his winery in the French countryside, where she uncovers that the pesticide being sprayed on the vines is turning the locals into killer zombies. FYI If they were fed with Merlot grapes, the world has ended!


Eye Of The Devil (1967)

Another chiller to add to your horror movie night. This film tells the story of a mysterious chateau and its surrounding vineyards where the workers follow pagan rituals and even calling for the sacrifice of the vineyard's owner to save the crops. Starring David Niven, Deborah Kerr and Sharon Tate.


The Secret of Santa Vittoria (1969)

This sweeping war movie is about Italian villagers hiding a million bottles of wine from the Germans during World War II. The film features fantastic shots of the sunny Italian landscape that will take you back to the Italian countryside and remind you of your last vacation in Italy!


The Vintner’s Luck (Also A Heavenly Vintage) (2009)

An indie film directed by Niki Caro and set in the early 19th century France, the film is based on the award-winning novel from Elizabeth Knox; it tells the story of a peasant winemaker whose biggest dream is to make the perfect vintage wine and sees his luck change when he meets an angel and his wines start to bring acclaim through a divine inspiration.

 

This Earth is Mine (1959)

An intrigue-packed melodrama set in the early days of California wine culture; this movie is recommended for its fascinating look at how the American wine industry faced Prohibition in the early 20th century.


Vino Veritas (2013)

On Halloween night, the lives of two suburban couples change forever under the influence of a Peruvian wine brewed from the toxic skin of blue dart tree frogs. The wine effectively reduces all inhibitions and soon friendships and relationships are revealed much different from what they seemed in the beginning.

 

Wine Country (2019)

An unpretentious comedy starring Amy Poehler, Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph, about a grown-up girls trip to Napa Valley where friends reunite and discover the good and the bad sides of right and wrong choices as well as the true nature of lifelong friendships.

 

Year Of The Comet (1992)

Margaret Harwood has been sent on a trip to Scotland by her wine merchant father, when she discovers a priceless bottle of wine from 1811, the year of the Great Comet. Then her father sends his unprofessional assistant Oliver as her bodyguard, to help keep the wine safe and out of greedy hands while tensions and love rise between the two.

 

You Will Be My Son (2013)

Paul de Marseul owns his prestigious family winery, but has little faith in his son, Martin. He wishes his son was more successful and hardworking, but there’s always his estate manager’s son who can fit the bill.
