The irresistible charm of the Etna Volcano, in Sicily, has seduced Mr Carlo Ferrini, one of the most important Tuscan winemakers of modern times. Driven by the desire of making a special wine in the area, together with his daughter Bianca, Mr Ferrini
has selected a small vineyard of local Nerello Mascalese, located on a high slope (900 meters asl) with exposure to North and cultivated with the typical Etnese sapling vine training system. The Volcanic soil, combined with 80-100 years
old vines, produces a layered, mineral, yet elegant red, with notes of prunes, black currants, blood orange, potpourri, orange blossoms and a note of graphite, typical of the volcanic soil that does not overwhelm the other delicate aromas.
Palate is layered and opens with a fresh flavor of prunes and currants, the tannin is firm but perfectly integrated, leading to a long-lasting sapidity given by the lava soil.
